Concerto for Marimba, Percussion & Synthesizers
Arranger/Composer: Daniel McCarthy
Item Code: 01650
Publisher: C. Alan Publications
Marimba Feature
Written for marimbist Michael Burritt, this virtuosic three-movement work is a first-rate piece of music. The solo marimba part is virtuosic and challenging. The electronics weave in and out of the solo and ensemble texture, sometimes providing a nice sustained, choral backdrop, sometimes providing an in-your-face back beat.
Program Notes
Written for marimbist Michael Burritt, this virtuosic three-movement work is a first-rate piece of music. The solo marimba part is extremely virtuosic and challenging. The electronics weave in and out of the solo and ensemble texture, sometimes providing a nice sustained, choral backdrop, sometimes providing an in-your-face back beat (as in Rokit!). You can hear a recording of "Concerto" on Daniel McCarthy's CD "Song of Middle Earth" (also available from C. Alan).
