Bay Leaves is a bright and fast rock tune. After the introduction, which begins with a short drum pattern solo, the trumpet section plays the first melody. There is a double time feeling in the middle section, and a rock band-like unison riff on guitar and bass in the last melody. Soloists are guitar and tenor sax (with optional parts). The optional percussion includes tambourine and claves.
